The indie label Yep Roc Records announced it will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a three-night birthday party in October at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro, N.C. featurung artists from throughout the label's history, including Nick Lowe, Robyn Hitchcock and John Doe. Yep Rock is also offering "Premiere Fan" bundles, which includes access to a Yep Roc recording session with Chris Stamey and Scott McCaughey.

At ABC's upfronts this week, the network announced two new country-music based programs: "Friday Night Lights" a musical drama starring "Friday Night Lights" Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere as a rising singer; and “Malibu Country” starring country singer Reba McEntire as a recently separated country singer who moves her family (including her mom played by Lily Tomlin) to California to jumpstart her music career.
